Question about Gazelle or other workout machines?

Today's question is I just obtained a Gazelle from a friend. For the past 3 days I have worked out for 60minutes. I like it and all, it's easy to get my heart rate up and I feel like I'm getting a good workout from it. I've seen a lot of mixed reviews though from people that have seen results within weeks to those that have been using it for months without any progress. My question is: if you have one, is it working or not and why do you think so? If you use something else and that works I would love to hear about that too. I'm considering getting an elliptical if the gazelle does not work.

In this case my opinion is I think the problem with a machine like the gazelle is, that the machine is doing the moving for you, whereas on a treadmill you area actually running, or an elliptical involves pushing down and pulling the handles with your arms. At the same time, if you're getting your heart rate up, sweating and burning calories then keep at it! Maybe you could adjust the settings and intensity levels. If you are feeling challenged by the Gazelle then that's what matters in the end. Good luck!
