Weight loss help for a commercial actress?

I have such question I am 17, 5 foot 4, and I have a medium build. I am relatively comfortable with the way I look in person, but I look sallow and flabby on camera. I have held my weight at about 130 for a few years now. I have tried losing weight before...never cared enough though to really try at it. But now I most certainly do because I am launching back into the commercial business. Accordingly, I would like to lose 15 pounds. I want to lose the first 8 or so fairly quickly so I can atleast get out there and not embarrass myself asap. but I am willing to work and do it the right way until i hit ideal. if you have lost weight from a position similar to mine, and were successful in keeping it off, please let me know what you did beyond the common sense stuff such as "count your calories" or "exercise regularly". what are those tips and tricks that made a noticeable difference for you? p.s. i own a mild intensity elliptical, 2 5-pound weights, a yoga mat, and running shoes. but if there is anything else out there that really helped you, tip me please! :)
