I have pulled a muscle in my shoulder..GP says not to go to the gym?

I have such question I have pulled a muscle in my shoulder, and today the GP said to avoid the gym for about 2 weeks. The thing is, i really want to carry on going! If i only do cardio,i dont see the problem. Things such as riding the bikes, using the cross trainer, and doing weights for my legs (thus avoiding the rowing machines and arm weights) shouldnt cause any harm should it?

And I found this way Listen to your doctor or else your recovery time might take a lot longer and you might wind up doing more damage to yourself. Even if you just focus on the lower body, all it takes is one moment of distraction and you wind up hurting your shoulder again. Take the time to relax, do some light cardio like walking and give your body the time it needs to heal.
